Battery Cables/Wires connect the battery to the rest of the starting and charging circuits. The size of the battery wires/cables should be sufficient enough to carry the 200 amps of current required by a starting motor.

• They are prone to corroding as they are close to the battery. So, the wires/cables should make good electrical contact with the cable clamps.

Maintenance of Battery Wires/Cables

• Disconnected or loose battery wires/cables should be checked
• Battery wires/cables should be intact, and the connectors kept tight at all times.
