Clutch Lever

Clutch lever helps in easy shifting of gears by disconnecting the engine and transmission when they are pulled. It can be either cable activated or hydraulically operated type. It is positioned on the left handlebar grip.

Types of Clutch Lever
Generally, there are two types of clutch levers. They are:

• Hydraulic clutch lever
• Cable activated clutch lever

Functions Of Clutch Lever
These levers are used when one have to do:

• Select and change gears
• Put the vehicle into neutral
• Carry out some slow-speed maneuvers

Materials used for making Clutch Lever
The two materials most commonly used for making these levers are:

• Steel
• Aluminum

Maintenance of Clutch Lever

• For better performance, the lever need to be checked for adequate amount of the hydraulic fluid or for the need of bleeding.
• Clutch levers loosen with time and have to be adjusted.
• They should be lubricated from time to time.
• The clutch levers should be checked for pivot holes whenever the clutch has to be rebuilt.
