The clutch system parts consist of the following:
The main function of the system is to engage and disengage the engine from the transmission which enables the driver to start, stop, idle in neutral and shift gears of a vehicle. While the engine is engaged, engine power flows to the transmission and engine power cannot flow through to the transmission while the engine is disengaged.
Maintenance of Clutch System
- Periodic adjustment of the cables are necessary.
- The clutch plates should be replaced whenever the clutch is repaired.
- The lever should be checked for adequate amount of the hydraulic fluid or whether it needs bleeding. Hydraulic Clutch System should also be checked for wear and tear.
