Functions of Clutch Cable/Wire
The main function of the clutch cable/wire is to connect the clutch pedal directly to the clutch release fork.
The materials used for making two wheeler clutch wire should be strong, light in weight and durable. Some of the most commonly used materials are:
- Stainless Steel
- Aluminum
- At every 500 miles the clutch cables should be checked.
- It should be lubricated and adjusted at every 5000 miles.
- When the clutch would not pull easily the clutch and slip under load, the adjustment should be checked.
- In extreme cases of wear, they have to be replaced.
