Flasher

A flasher is like a special type of switch which can turn on or off a metal strip. The higher the current, the faster it heats up and then turns off. It cools down and makes contact again. It is used to blink the indicators.

Characteristics of Flasher

• Usually, the flashers of two wheeler operate according to the LED (Light Emitting Diode) system. LEDs are bright but use very little power. They produce minimum amounts of heat, are high impact resistant, and come in waterproof enclosures.
• An electronic flasher operates both turn signals and hazard warning lamps.
• Some motorcycle flasher is load dependent. It needs a certain amount of current to function.

Functions of Flasher
The main function of the flasher is to blink so that it can catch the attention of people to warn them. Flashers are used for the working of:

• Brake light flasher
• Parking light flasher
• Indicators: left and right

Regular check for loose connections in the wiring is necessary.
