Using lights in the right place and at the right time is also very important to avoid accidents. It informs the other riders of the next step the rider is going to take: whether he is going to right or left, or whether he is stopping the vehicle. For theses purposes, lights are installed in the front, back and sides of the two-wheeler.
The different lights used in a two wheeler are:
- Brake Lights: Brake lights is a red light on the rear of a motor vehicle that signals when the brakes are applied to slow or stop. It catches the attention of the following drivers when brakes are applied.
- Head Lights: Headlights are a pair of lights fitted at the front of a vehicle. They illuminate the road at night and during foggy weather. Headlights warn others of the riders' presence.
- Parking Light / Lamp: Parking Lights are the low beam lights installed at the front and rear end of a vehicle. They are also known as Parking Lamps.
- Tail Lights: Tail lights are the small lights used in the vehicles as an indicator. It flashes several times and catches the attention of others and help to avoid accident.
- Turn Signal / Indicator: Turn signals or indicators are a blinking/flashing light on a motor vehicle that indicates the direction in which the vehicle is about to turn.
